Pro-Trump narrative

The U.N. Human Rights Council, stacked with authoritarian regimes like China and Cuba, has done nothing for human rights while lecturing the only country actually confronting the world's top sponsor of terror. The regime that murdered thousands of its own citizens, executed protesters and attacked its neighbors is the real war criminal here. Besides, it's not even clear who was responsible for the strike, and stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is what matters most.

Anti-Trump narrative

Dropping Tomahawks on a clearly marked primary school and scattering tungsten pellets over a sports complex is a war crime that killed scores of innocent civilians. Recklessness about civilian lives is not an accident, and the victims' families deserve full reparations and a guarantee that it never happens again. Iran's brutal repression of its own people does not excuse a single one of those deaths.

Pro-Iran narrative

Iran's crackdown defended national security, not dissent. Peaceful economic protests the government recognized as legitimate were hijacked by foreign and domestic terrorists — backed by the U.S. and Israel — who unleashed arson, armed attacks and killings. Restricting their communications was essential to dismantle those cells. The U.N.'s "crimes against humanity" charge ignores the real aggressors, which, in this case, is guilty of murdering scores of children.
