The Spin

Democratic narrative

The Iran war is a cascading disaster — 17 dead, nearly 100 more wounded, and a Pentagon that sat on that information while costs ballooned. Iran keeps striking U.S. forces and oil is pushing $90 a barrel. Americans deserve straight answers about a war that keeps expanding with no clear endgame in sight.

Republican narrative

Congress must act now to secure the funding American soldiers need on the battlefield. This war was a measured and necessary endeavor to protect national interests and isn't being conducted like the wrong-headed wars of the past. This money will go to ensure that energy supplies and global safety are secured from the Iranian threat.
