The latest development in Narges Mohammadi's treatment at the hands of the state reveals the viciousness and vindictiveness of the Iranian regime. Denying her even the most basic rights, a kangaroo court sentenced Mohammadi with the intent of making an example out of her for her defiance. Given this outrage, the international community must act quickly to demand her immediate release.

Regarding Mohammadi, it's is vital to take any report with a healthy dose of skepticism. After all, rather than a figure of real resistance, Mohammadi is nothing more than a regime puppet masquerading as legitimate opposition. After all, the regime does not grant its opponents media access within Evin Prison — they are either killed or silenced by other means.
