The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The death of Ali Khamenei is a victory worth celebrating — a decades-long state sponsor of terrorism is gone, and Iranians themselves are rejoicing in the streets. The selective outrage from the left is hollow and against U.S. interests. President Donald Trump did what needed to be done, and the free world is better off for it.

Anti-Trump narrative

Killing Ali Khamenei was a strategic blunder. Mojtaba Khamenei survived the strike and is now consolidating power around an even more uncompromising ideology. The assassination didn't weaken the Resistance Front. Instead, it unified it and upgraded its leadership to a version far less willing to deal with Washington.
