Was BBC Persian's mistranslation deliberate propaganda or was it simply an honest subtitle error that was corrected?

The Spin

Right narrative

BBC Persian deliberately mistranslated Hegseth's speech, changing "regime" to "people" and making it appear the U.S. targeted Iranian civilians rather than the government. This isn't the first time — the BBC pulled the same stunt with Trump just months ago. Time to defund this propaganda outlet.

Left narrative

BBC Persian made a simple subtitle translation error for Iranian viewers and promptly corrected it. Hegseth's actual English speech was never altered. Spinning an honest mistake into some grand conspiracy theory to justify defunding public broadcasting is a significant overreach.
