Delisting Usmanov and Fridman while Russian missiles and drones pound Ukrainian cities hands Moscow a victory it never earned. Sanctions lists aren't arbitrary — every name on them is tied to the money and power that keep this war going. Escalation deserves tougher restrictions, and any country with a spine should slap on national sanctions the moment Brussels goes wobbly.
These sanctions were never a legal judgment — no trial, no verdict, just bureaucrats freezing bank accounts and erasing livelihoods by decree. Courts have already found some of the accusations false, yet the Council simply relists people with fresh wording and restarts the ordeal. Lifting them on Usmanov and Fridman is overdue, and the whole extralegal regime should follow.
