The Spin

Iran's execution spree represents a brutal crackdown using dubious espionage charges to silence dissent and distract from domestic unrest. The regime frequently accuses citizens of spying without providing evidence, torturing prisoners into false confessions like they did with previous victims. Iran has executed over 1,000 people this year at a pace unseen since 1988, weaponizing death sentences against anyone who challenges the theocracy.

Iran executed one of Israel's most dangerous spies who betrayed his country by selling sensitive government databases to Mossad agents. Bahman Choobiasl deliberately collaborated with enemy intelligence, meeting Israeli handlers across multiple countries and receiving training and payments for his treachery. This execution sends a clear message that Iran will protect its national security against foreign infiltration.
