The Spin

Left narrative

Stripping civil rights protections from trans students isn't "freeing schools," it's abandoning kids who just want to learn safely. No precedent exists for the federal government tearing up previously negotiated civil rights settlements, making this a reckless and cruel first. Real discrimination complaints go unanswered while the administration laser-focuses on targeting a small minority of vulnerable students.

Right narrative

Title IX was always about protecting students based on biological sex, and prior administrations illegally stretched the law to police pronoun use and push a radical gender ideology onto schools. A federal court already struck down Biden's 2024 Title IX rule as unlawful, so rescinding these agreements simply restores legal order. Schools deserve to operate under the actual law, not ideologically driven mandates with no legal foundation.
