The Spin

Pro-Ukraine narrative

Ukraine's drone strikes prove that distance from the front line is no shield from consequences. Russian naval arsenals and oil depots burning hundreds of kilometers from the battlefield show that Ukraine's long-range capabilities are real and growing. Russia's continued aggression will continue to meet a precise, calculated response.

Pro-Russia narrative

Russia's position on Ukraine has not shifted one inch, and drone attacks on St. Petersburg won't change that calculus. Zelenskyy's open letter, filled with thinly veiled threats, gave Putin no reason to engage seriously with talks. Russia will achieve its goals either at the negotiating table or through continued military operations.
