The Spin

Left narrative

Britain is finally doing what is right, moving from condemnation to accountability. Recognizing Israel's occupation as unlawful and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, the U.K. must now fully enforce its ban on settlement goods and services, cut off financing and arms that sustain the occupation, and back legal action over violations of international law. This must be a real reset, not a symbolic gesture.

Right narrative

Britain's hostile Labour government risks sacrificing its influence and a valuable security partner for a politically driven sanctions regime. These measures will bleed into Israel's wider economy as banks avoid the complexity of separating settlement-linked business, effectively creating a broader boycott of the only Jewish state. Britain should not undermine a key ally with impracticable policy.
