The Spin

Pro-Russia narrative

No intelligence has been put on the table showing Russia is preparing an attack on alliance territory, so panic about an imminent war is largely manufactured. Talk in European capitals about blockading or breaking into a Russian exclave is exactly the kind of provocation that invites a nuclear warning and raises the risk of escalation. Washington’s European vassals are fueling the very danger of war they claim to be protecting the continent from.

Anti-Russia narrative

Russia’s nuclear saber-rattling over a fortified exclave deserves to be taken at face value, because a regime that invaded a neighbor has earned zero benefit of the doubt. Moscow’s threats are meant to scare Europe into abandoning Ukraine, paired with sabotage and signal jamming targeting the systems civilian life and regional security depend on. Backing down in the face of such pressure would only confirm that intimidation and nuclear blackmail work.
