A Tehran-based analyst noted the struck vessel may have strayed into active mine-clearing zones, and no official Iranian authority has claimed the strike. Ongoing U.S. and Israeli military pressure — including strikes that killed Khamenei — makes diplomacy nearly impossible and keeps the strait dangerously unstable.
