ICE Agent Shoots Driver in New York City, Sparking Protests

Was the shooting proof that an unaccountable agency needs body cameras and independent oversight, or the predictable fallout of sanctuary policies?

The Spin

Left narrative

Firing multiple rounds on a residential block with a small child in the back seat is the predictable result of letting an agency operate without the accountability every other law enforcement body accepts. Body camera footage and an independent investigation are the bare minimum, since claims from an agency policing itself mean little. No badge puts anyone above the law.

Right narrative

Street arrests only happen because sanctuary politicians refuse to hand over violent offenders already in custody, turning quiet neighborhoods into the only place left to make an arrest. Someone with a violent record and suspected gang ties should never have been turned loose in the first place. Blaming officers for the danger sanctuary policy created is backwards.
