The Spin

Left narrative

Wilders has once again chosen self-interest over national duty. With global crises looming and real solutions within reach, Wilders has abandoned his post amid a policy tantrum. The Dutch people deserve more than loud promises without the ability to compromise and govern reasonably, and the PVV's decision will be remembered as a betrayal of the country they claim to love.

Right narrative

Wilders’s exit isn’t the problem but rather a symptom of a broken coalition that failed to act on migration despite overwhelming public concern. Like much of Europe, the government stalled, watered down proposals, and ignored voters. When promises are buried under endless negotiations, walking away becomes the only honest response. This collapse is on the coalition’s inaction, not Wilders’s resolve.
