On Wed., Iran announced that it turned off systems used by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to monitor uranium enrichment at an undisclosed nuclear facility.
This comes after Western powers backed an IAEA resolution to censure Iran for not cooperating with a probe into its nuclear activities.
The IAEA acts as if Iran is obligated to cooperate, when in fact it has been doing so voluntarily until now, as a show of goodwill. Tehran's decision to turn off non-mandatory monitoring systems is simply retaliation to anti-Iran resolutions.
Iran is playing with fire. Several documents prove that it has consistently lied to the international community regarding its nuclear program. Swift action must be undertaken to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon.
