Iran Attacks 10 Ships in Hormuz, Strikes US Base in Jordan

The Spin

Iran keeps firing ballistic missiles at U.S. Navy warships, and every single attempt has failed, so the answer is simple: take away the money. Those crude oil carriers bankroll a multibillion-dollar shadow network that pays for the IRGC and its proxies, and crews got warned to abandon ship before a shot was fired. Attacking American sailors should cost Tehran its fleet.

Blowing up civilian oil tankers and blockading Iranian ports is maritime piracy, not self-defense. Warnings were issued in advance that any strike on Iranian tankers would bring retaliation against U.S. bases across the region, and the missile barrage on al-Azraq Airbase in Jordan was the promised answer. A country whose commercial fleet gets destroyed has every right to hit back.
