The Spin

Carney's posturing is setting Canada up for a serious fall. Trump has already warned that playing the anti-American card ends badly for Canadian politicians. Pivoting toward China as leverage is even worse, since Beijing's track record is economic blackmail, not partnership, and every concession to Xi hollows out Canadian industry. Canada already gets the best tariff treatment in the world, so manufacturing grievances to score political points is a losing bet.
