The US-Iran memorandum of understanding is a landmark achievement that ends military confrontation across all fronts, including Lebanon. Iran stood firm and secured key provisions — lifting of the naval blockade, respect for Lebanon's sovereignty and guarantees on the Strait of Hormuz. This deal maximizes Iran and Lebanon's national interests while strengthening the Axis of Resistance.
No US-brokered deal binds Israel — sovereignty isn't negotiable, and history proves that caving to international pressure always costs Israeli lives. Hezbollah must be fully dismantled, no captured territory surrendered and any drone or missile fired from Lebanon must be met with an immediate strike on Dahiya. Anything less repeats the catastrophic mistakes of Oslo and 2006.
