The Peruvian left is winning again, just like in 2021 when Pedro Castillo beat Fujimori despite exit polls favoring the right. Roberto Sánchez, Castillo's political heir, is leading in the quick count and the trend points to a clear victory. Rural, indigenous and working-class Peru has spoken, and no amount of oligarchic media dominance or foreign meddling changed that.
Keiko Fujimori is on track to win Peru's presidency, holding 50.46% of the vote with 90% counted — and overseas ballots, where she runs strong, haven't even been tallied yet. The numbers tell a straightforward story: Peruvians are rejecting the far-left path and choosing a different direction. This race is Fujimori's to lose.
