Hegseth's press crackdown is a blatant power grab dressed up as security policy — restricting reporters from doing anything but repeating what officials approve is authoritarianism, plain and simple. Over 100 Pentagon reporters walked out rather than sign a 21-page pledge that would've made them government mouthpieces. A $1 trillion department answerable to taxpayers cannot be allowed to operate in the dark.
The Pentagon restricted press access for a reason — leaks dried up completely until a judge forced reporters back in, and then information started spilling immediately. That's not coincidence, that's proof Hegseth's policy was working exactly as intended. The Department is appealing the ruling and has every right to control who roams a secure federal facility.
