After years of advocacy by local organizations, it's great that Nichols is finally taking some meaningful action to make up for the harm caused by the 1921 massacre. For too long, the massacre has been a stain on Tulsa, and although it's still a horrible event in the city's history, this announcement could heal at least some of the long-lasting wounds.
