Trump had to once again reiterate his position that abortion laws, as is now the law of the land, should be up to each state to vote on separately. It makes sense, however, that Democrats are continuing to lie about Trump given their candidates' voting records on the issue. As Minnesota governor, Walz signed a bill that stopped requiring doctors to save a baby who's been born alive during a botched abortion; and Harris voted for the same when she was a Senator.
Donald Trump can no longer get away with flip -flopping on abortion. He is the one who proudly appointed three Supreme Court justices to help overturn Roe v. Wade, whose campaign has been tied to the radical right-wing, anti-abortion Project 2025, and whose party is publicly against reproductive rights. J.D. Vance also can't hide from this, as he's on record explicitly stating that he wished abortion was illegallyillegal nationwide.
If Donald Trump is elected president in 2024, there is a 12% chance of a US nation abortion ban before 2030, compared to a 1% chance if he loses, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
