The European Commission Tuesday revised its 2009 guidelines regarding smoking, proposing to raise a “tobacco-free generation” by 2040 and to de-normalize tobacco use.
The initiative recommends extension of EU's smoke-free environment policies to key outdoor areas like playgrounds, amusement parks, and swimming pools.
In keeping with EU's Beating Cancer Plan, the commission's new guidelines recommend smoke-free policies extended to heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes.
