Harris Campaign Says it Was Targeted by "Influence Operation"

The Facts

• On Tuesday, the campaign for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris says that it was informed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that it was the target of a "foreign actor influence operation," adding that they did not believe they suffered any "security breaches."

• The FBI says the efforts date back to the period before Pres. Joe Biden withdrew from the race and come on the heels of the campaign of former president Donald Trump saying that they were the victims of a hack they suspect Iran to be behind.
