Sudan has been on tracka topath reachtoward famine status since earlier this year, with over 8M people displaced and 18M going hungry. As one of the most agriculturally fertile places in Africa, Sudan should not be facing famine. However, thanks to Western intervention, such as the US-backed secession of what's now called South Sudan to gain control of its oil, Sudan has been turned upside down, with warring factions filling the political vacuum. While the UN repeatedly warns of famine, the Western elites who fund its operations appear to have no desire to fix the mess they've created.
