White House Planning to Modernize America's Electrical Grid

On Tuesday, the Biden administration announced a new initiative to modernize the US power grid in collaboration with federal agencies, states, and energy sector stakeholders.
The "Federal-State Modern Grid Deployment Initiative" has initial commitments from 21 states, which will focus their efforts on optimizing current energy infrastructure, enhancing grid resilience, and investing in emerging grid technologies.
The White House said this initiative aims to lower energy costs, create new jobs, and increase the resilience of the grid during extreme weather events. The federal government will provide technical assistance and make sure states can apply for federal money and loans.
