The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is one of twelve regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the United States Federal Reserve System. It serves the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, which covers the nine western states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, plus American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
