Joseph Wu

Joseph Wu served as Taiwan's foreign minister from 2018 to 2024 under President Tsai Ing-wen, advocating for Taiwan's international participation amid rising tensions with China. The former academic and diplomat previously held roles including representative to the United States (2007-2008) and secretary-general of Taiwan's National Security Council (2016-2018). He stepped down in May 2024 following President Lai Ching-te's inauguration.
