Slapping visa bans on a left-wing senator and opposition-linked judges while cozying up to friendly presidents whose own inner circles reek of drug money shows this is political punishment wearing an anti-corruption mask. Sanctions handed out by ideology hand allied governments a green light to hunt their own opponents. Defending democracy is the excuse; interference is the result.
