The case against Moonshot AI rests on shaky ground — even AI researchers have been openly skeptical that Kimi K3 could have incorporated Fable 5 outputs given the tight timeline between releases. Distillation is a standard, widely used technique across the entire AI industry, not some uniquely Chinese scheme. Anthropic itself settled a landmark copyright lawsuit for misusing authors' data, making its moral authority on IP theft pretty hard to take seriously.
