UK Charity Probed Over Hamas Financing Links

Is this scandal proof of systemic charity abuse or does Western outrage ignore Israel's own covert funding?

The Spin

Right narrative

British charities are being exploited as terrorism financing pipelines, and the Al-Khair Foundation scandal proves the system is broken. The FBI's allegations that the charity funneled money and goods to Hamas leaders — while collecting at least £9 million in Gift Aid — demand urgent government action. The Charity Commission and Met Police need to move fast, and Parliament must close the loopholes allowing extremist networks to hide behind charitable status.

Left narrative

Framing Hamas financing as a one-sided outrage ignores that Israel itself has covertly bankrolled armed militias in Gaza and strategically cultivated Hamas as a counterweight to Fatah for years. Tens of millions of shekels from the Israeli military budget went to groups operating outside any formal oversight structure. Moral credibility on terrorism financing requires acknowledging all sides that have fueled armed factions for political gain.
