Framing Hamas financing as a one-sided outrage ignores that Israel itself has covertly bankrolled armed militias in Gaza and strategically cultivated Hamas as a counterweight to Fatah for years. Tens of millions of shekels from the Israeli military budget went to groups operating outside any formal oversight structure. Moral credibility on terrorism financing requires acknowledging all sides that have fueled armed factions for political gain.
