Is Seoul's funding of U.S. projects proof that tariff leverage works or just a press release with no concrete substance?

The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Decades of getting rolled on trade finally ended, and the proof is a foreign government footing the bill for American energy projects at zero cost to taxpayers. Tough tariffs weren't the economic suicide the doom crowd promised — they were leverage, and leverage works. America gets the reactors, the jobs and the energy dominance while someone else writes the check.

Anti-Trump narrative

A press release is not a power plant, and nothing here is free money. Every dollar comes with conditions on commercial viability, legal review and a profit split that sends returns back to Seoul until principal and interest are repaid. Big nuclear builds in the U.S. have a nasty habit of running years late and billions over budget, so celebrating before any concrete gets poured is premature.
