The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

President Trump is right to hold the line here, as Congress keeps stonewalling the SAVE America Act despite its popularity with voters. The act's commonsense safeguards would protect election integrity, and blocking them is indefensible. No legislative wins should flow to a Congress that refuses to secure the ballot box, and Trump is finally using real leverage to force the issue.

Anti-Trump narrative

This housing bill passed with remarkable bipartisan support, and it's disappointing that Trump has refused to sign it in order to push his voter suppression scheme that can't clear Congress. Millions of Americans locked out of homeownership deserve better than being used as bargaining chips. This bill will still become law and Trump just looks like a chump for giving away the win.
