The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

While Americans can't afford rent, groceries or gas, the White House just got a $6 million granite helipad. The national debt has blown past $40 trillion, a war with Iran is burning through billions, and this is what the country has to show for it. Luxury renovations for a building aren't governing — and the taxpayers footing the bill deserve better.

Pro-Trump narrative

The White House grounds were an embarrassment — asphalt, potholes and paint slapped over stone since 1792 — and no president in 50 years had the backbone to fix it. Trump personally walked up to the construction crew, recognized their work and delivered a result that looks flawless.
