Trump Cuts Short Camp David as Houthis Attack Saudi Capital

Is a large-scale Yemen operation the right call or just another forever war paid for in American blood?

The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The Houthis are Iran's proxy army, and letting them pound Saudi Arabia week after week only invites more aggression. It's time for the U.S. to carry out a large-scale military operation, and cutting a Camp David weekend short suggests the Trump administration may be on the verge of making that call. Free Yemen from Iran, back the troops and end this threat before it grows.

Anti-Trump narrative

Riyadh has bought more American weapons than any country on earth, including a $24.3 billion F-35 deal, yet still expects Americans to do the fighting. A war with Iran has already burned $33 billion in four months, drained munitions stockpiles and cost aircraft and just 31% of Americans back it. Trump must avoid opening another front in Yemen, as it would be one more forever war paid for in American blood.
