The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Elections have been stolen through machines and mass mail-in ballots that allow easy manipulation. In order to prevent future elections from being stolen by Democrats, legislation must be passed or the federal government must take over in order to eliminate iffy voting machines, end mail-in voting and require in-person voting with ID in precincts. These are the only ways to ensure fair elections.

Democratic narrative

The Constitution explicitly grants states authority over elections to prevent federal overreach and protect democracy from executive power grabs. Nationalizing elections violates constitutional principles the Founding Fathers established and opens the door to authoritarian control over voting. Now that Trump has said the quiet part out loud, action must be taken to keep the federal government from manipulating upcoming elections.
