The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The U.S.-Saudi nuclear deal is a massive win for American workers, industry and national security. Saudi Arabia is ramping up investment commitments to nearly $1 trillion, and American companies are locked in as the Kingdom's civil nuclear partners of choice. This is an America First deal that keeps U.S. technology dominant and strengthens regional stability.

Anti-Trump narrative

Allowing Saudi Arabia's enrichment capabilities hands the Kingdom a loaded gun to extract U.S. security guarantees by threatening to go nuclear. Every president since the nuclear age began held firm on no uranium enrichment in Saudi Arabia, and that line just got erased. This sets a precedent that effectively abandons non-proliferation as a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy.
