The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

As shown by the Epstein files, Andrew was clearly engaged in very suspicious private dealings, but his personal arrogance and incompetence should be treated on a case-by-case basis. British police are properly investigating these claims about illegal information sharing, and the focus should remain on whether laws were broken in that capacity. The lurid theories about vast criminal networks have fallen flat because actual criminal cases require real evidence, not guilt by association.

Establishment-critical narrative

Andrew's connections to Epstein extended far beyond information sharing and continued years after Epstein's conviction for child sex offenses. The former prince actively vouched for the convicted sex offender to Middle Eastern leaders and maintained contact through intermediaries despite claiming he'd cut ties. Medical professionals and institutions also appear complicit in enabling Epstein's trafficking operation, while Andrew's victims were dismissed as liars for years.
