Handing the UAE license-free access to advanced AI chips drains scarce Blackwell supply away from U.S. firms, hands a foreign-owned competitor the tools to rival American hyperscalers and risks creating a backdoor for China. The national security justification is further weakened by the revelation that the G42 chair purchased a 49% stake in a Trump-linked crypto company before this deal was struck. It is a mystery how this benefits America at all.
