The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

During its interview with the U.S. president, GB News let Trump spew a host of unchallenged falsehoods that ranged from climate change to no-go zones in London. Clearly, this was a blatant Ofcom violation, for which GB News must be held accountable. Otherwise, the regulator will allow the channel to promote misinformation masquerading as journalism.

Pro-establishment narrative

Having already reviewed the Trump interview and cleared it, Ofcom has reversed course following pressure from leftist campaign groups. This development raises serious questions about regulatory fairness and its glaring double standard, given that the regulator routinely ignores bias at pro-establishment outlets like the BBC and Sky News.
