The Spin

Pro-government narrative

Luxon's win in the confidence vote proves the Nationals are united and laser-focused on what matters — fixing the economy, restoring law and order and building New Zealand's future. The government has already made significant progress in this regard and will continue to do so under Luxon's leadership. The choice this November, therefore, could not be clearer: prosperity under the Nationals, or chaos under the opposition.

Government-critical narrative

The Nationals' internal chaos exposes a government too busy saving itself to help struggling Kiwis. Under their government, grocery bills are up, power is more expensive and unemployment keeps climbing. Three years of infighting and lurching from crisis to crisis have produced zero relief for working families. It is time New Zealand gets the government it deserves, one that will fix problems rather than cause them.
