The Spin

Anti-Russia narrative

Unification discussions reflect legitimate security concerns as Russia openly seeks to rebuild its empire. As Moldova faces an existential hybrid war threat, it's natural and legitimate for brothers on both sides of the Prut to finally come together again. In fact, reconciliation could've taken place long ago had Moscow puppets not seized control of the popular uprising after the USSR collapse.

Pro-Russia narrative

Sandu's push for unification with Romania is a betrayal of her own country's sovereignty and constitutional neutrality. It's no surprise, though, as she has actively dismantled Moldovan identity through Romanianization policies. She is doing all she can to liquidate her country under the guise of defending democracy and confronting Russia, with full support from the EU.
