The Spin

Climate activist narrative

For decades, Big Oil companies conspired to suppress renewables and EVs through patent manipulation, deception and coordinated market control, forcing Michigan families to pay artificially inflated prices for outdated fossil fuels. For this, these companies must be held accountable for the energy affordability and climate crises they perpetrated to serve their own selfish interests.

Climate-skeptic narrative

Instead of solving Michigan's energy crisis, Nessel's frivolous lawsuit will only exacerbate the situation, with her pointless green crusade almost certain to raise energy costs and threaten vital jobs, all while wasting taxpayers' money. Instead of punishing major oil and gas companies, Michigan should work with them to expand the state's energy production and reduce prices.
