The Spin

Government-critical narrative

Trump's treatment of the White House has been tantamount to vandalism. Despite his promise that proposed renovations would not radically transform the existing building, demolition crews have destroyed the historic East Wing to make room for a gaudy ballroom. This travesty occurred without congressional authorization, necessitating its immediate suspension.

Pro-government narrative

The president's ballroom, a gift to the nation — one paid by donors, not taxpayers — is being illegitimately struck down by a partisan judge ignoring basic standing requirements. The project, after all, includes not only the above-ground venue but also crucial bomb shelters and the necessary military facilities. Blocking its construction only leaves the people inside dangerously exposed.
