The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

ICE agents used a 5-year-old boy as bait after detaining him in his own driveway, directing the terrified child to knock on his door to lure out family members. The father had no deportation order and no criminal record, yet both were shipped to a Texas detention center while the mother and brother remain separated. This is government-sanctioned trauma inflicted on an innocent child whose family was following the asylum process.

Pro-Trump narrative

The father was in the country illegally, declined voluntary return with no consequences, then fled from ICE agents on foot and abandoned his 5-year-old son in a running vehicle. Agents couldn't simply hand the child to an unknown adult at the home, and the entire outrage is manufactured by Democrats and the media using lies. The real problem is decades of policy preventing enforcement when children are involved.
