The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The Interior Department is long overdue for an overhaul, which the Trump administration is now bringing to the fore. By streamlining its bureaus, eliminating redundant layers and refocusing staff, the administration aims to provide real value to taxpayers by modernizing the department — accelerating decision-making and enhancing accountability.

Anti-Trump narrative

To date, Trump's Interior Department has lost a significant portion of its workforce, resulting in several unintended consequences, including a hostile work environment and organizational chaos. As such, there's no doubt that gutting the agency further would be calamitous, especially given that it is stretched dangerously thin.
