ICE Agent Charged in Minneapolis Shooting Cover-Up

Was this a rogue officer who must face justice or a federal enforcer being sabotaged by political prosecution?

The Spin

Left narrative

An ICE agent shot a Venezuelan man in the leg through a closed door during a Minneapolis immigration operation, then lied to investigators about being attacked with a shovel and broom — and surveillance footage proved it. Federal agencies stonewalled the state investigation and even tried to deport witnesses. A federal badge doesn't grant immunity from state law, and these charges prove local prosecutors will step up when the feds won't.

Right narrative

The Minneapolis shooting unfolded amid chaotic anti-ICE protests, and the migrants involved had prior records, outstanding removal orders, or had been shielded by Minnesota authorities who refused to honor ICE detainers. The state's prosecution of a federal agent actively enforcing immigration law is a political stunt that undermines federal authority. ICE itself acknowledged the false statements and is already pursuing its own investigation and potential disciplinary action.
