Is this a betrayal of communities or the border security win voters demanded?

The Spin

Left narrative

Handing ICE $70 billion with zero accountability is a disgrace — these agencies have killed U.S. citizens, racially profiled communities and torn families apart without consequence. Congress chose Trump's approval over the people who elected them, rubber-stamping lawlessness with a blank check. Half a million Americans demanded better, and got betrayed.

Right narrative

The Secure America Act delivers $70 billion to fully fund ICE and Border Patrol through the Trump administration, ending months of Democrat obstruction that left border security agencies without resources. Illegal crossings have already hit record lows, and this funding locks in those gains for years. Securing the border and protecting American communities is exactly what voters demanded.
