Is peaceful remembrance reporting protected journalism or seditious incitement that security law must punish?

The Spin

Anti-China narrative

Treating remembrance coverage as sedition guts independent journalism and proves a security law now punishes any and all voices dissenting from the official line. Peaceful memory and on-site reporting never amount to a crime. Press freedom collapses when only a government-approved story remains legal.

Pro-China narrative

An unfounded death claim alongside seditious slogans amounts to incitement aimed at inflaming hatred. Security law rightly goes after lies built to turn the public against police and government. Remembrance cannot excuse deliberate falsehood without wrecking public trust and order.
