GOP Candidate Madel Exits Minnesota Governor Race

Was Mandel's resignation a principled stand or the mark of a liberal masquerading as a Republican?

The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

Madel's exit was a principled response to the Trump administration's reckless immigration enforcement campaign in Minnesota, which has seen U.S. citizens being racially profiled based on their skin color and lives lost. This brutal and authoritarian conduct demands that Americans of all political leanings stand together for the rights of their fellow citizens.

Pro-Trump narrative

From the beginning, Mandel was nothing but a Democrat in disguise, having donated thousands to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. It is no surprise, therefore, that Madel — cheered on corporate-sponsored abortions and smeared January 6 attendees — quit because the Trump administration is taking action to tackle America's immigration crisis.
